That would drive me OCD-crazy having something broken like that in the vehicle

 

I have been doing that, but to Clerics point, having something not working properly is driving me nuts haha. More practically though is having hamfisted friends who can't seem to feel the difference between auto and non fighting with my window, or rushing out and clicking both auto-up then the window reopens. Its rather easy to stick an arm in there to open the door or then drying out the interior from rain.

 

These parts a a bit time consuming to change and I have already changed them twice on my G35, so I would suggest quality aftermarket (Autozone has ok ones with lifetime warranty) and as for the actuator I would definitely stick with OEM. All these parts use carbon brushes which deteriorate over time.
