Hello, my names Dustin and I recently purchased a loaded 2007 g35 coupe.

Generally these post go , "I want 400whp budget 2 grand what S/C or T/C should I buy". Not the case. Heres some background on my knowledge.

I recently traded my built 1991 foxbody, mild 351w, single turbo, megasquirt ecu, msd ignition, walbro 255lph in tank, massive air to air intercooler , ect ect ect. Now its time to change it up and build something new for myself.

First thing i would like to do is rebuild the motor or look into a swap for my G35. Ive read alot of people are LS swapping (LS swap the world yo). Several people have gte swapped their cars. An similar to any other build everyone asks , "Stock hp limit on stock internals" with a reply ranging from 300whp(bad tune) - 550whp (solid tune). Id like to not be a moron with this build like i was with my ol mustang. This being said im looking for a solid parts list for internals , heads, cam, intake style build for now to be reliable before i inevitably get back into the boost game. Rough obviously guestimate of what it would cost and a small parts list to get me going on a solid base for an engine would be appreciated. Stock motor build? Engine swap? Lets set build price limit at 15 grand. Not saying i wouldnt like to keep it lower. Thanks ladies and gents.

 

The time and effort spent rebuilding this motor you're not much better off than just buying a built one. Check out importpartspro.com, they advertise on the vendor form as well. Any particular whp target you're shooting for? If your aim is >400whp you're getting out is s/c territory and into t/c.

Thanks , yeah id say 400whp is fine for my speed needs. Like always you become usedto it and push for more. I appreciate the advice ill check them out. 450whp was fun in the foxbody and made me smile from time to time. Thats a 3400lb car with me in it. So id say that range is fairly accurate for what id like to see. Im assuming the auto trans in the G isnt going to hold up very long or at all for anything close to thay range. Id be happy with roughly 450flywheel.

 

Id also like to note. I already have a megasquirt pnp II from my fox. Would it be worth it to splice it into the factory harness or should i go with cobb like it seems most others do?

 

New engine package from importpartspro, look under engines in our Marketplace. Add a Vortech super charger and you'll be very close to your desired WHP. Far less headaches than swapping in a LS motor...Gary
