New and Considering to Buy a G35

Hi guys, I'm new to the forums and have been considering buying a G35 Coupe for the longest time. Well I've finally got the money to and I'm just not too sure what years.

I've seen videos on the difference between the rev-up and non rev-up g35's but I haven't heard much about the mechanical problems one might have over the other. If anyone knows of this and would like to share that'd be awesome.

Also, I live out here in California and so emissions have always been a huge problem when choosing an exhaust even for my previous car. I know there are plenty of exhaust suggestions on the forum but does anyone know of a good, not too expensive exhaust set up that is legal in California?

Thanks!

Late 05 or newer if going for the 6mt because of beefed up syncros. And just look around for cats that are CARB complient. The rest of the exhaust is up to you.. I personally like the sound of the stock exhaust short of wishing it were a little louder (muffler delete may be in my future)

Yeah I feel the same way I love the VQ sound itself. So I know a muffler delete would be an option but what else would make that VQ noise a bit louder?

Best option outside of a new exhaust would be a nice set of high flow cats like the Fast Intentions or the Motordyne ART pipes (test pipes not HFC's so might not be CARB compliant). However the introduction of these on a stock exhaust might induce drone and/or rasp.

Yeah I've looked at both and unfortunately neither are CARB complient. Does anyone know of some high flow cats that are CARB/EO certified?

I'm almost 100% certain that NO HFC meets CARB requirements. Best suggestion is keep your stock cats for smog checks and just swap them in, run a HFC for the rest of the time.
