Wait for BS or buy BLACK?

Ok this is really hard I love the look of the black coupe but shudder at the thought of the upkeep and swirl marks etc. I have the opportunity to buy the Black 6mt fully loaded just the way I want it right now or I can wait another month for my BS coupe. I have no car since I sold mine for the Downpayment and really don't want to wait anymore. Should I just get the black one and a bunch of real soft towels or wait for my coupe. God I like the looks of Black! Need input thanx in advance.

Re: Wait for BS or buy BLACK?

i dont know about where u live but here i only see silver and DG. havent seen any black coupes come to think of it (only at the dealer). Go for the black, it'll be broken in by the time the weather gets hot and u'll have all summer to enjoy it.
also may a few coats of zaino will protect from swirl marks

Re: Wait for BS or buy BLACK?

If you can handle the upkeep i.e. it always looks dirty except right after you wash it. Or, can you swing a couple of trips to the detail shop a year ?? I haven't seen a black coupe around here and, as noted, there's plenty of the other. $500 off MSRP could do it. You might even get a smidge more off with you quandry of taking black. Ultimately, it's up to you but if it's spec'd out the way you want it, looks like you're more than half way there. Good luck. ...dean

Dude, so long as it's a G not an ES or something, grab it. Silver is good lookin and practical, black is gorgeous--- as a matter of fact I haven't met a G colour I don't like. If your anything like me you'll be washing a detailing often anyway so silver, black, red, blue -- who cares just grab one. This car is hot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Agree with everything GSM said. You just have to realize though that GSM has 24 hrs a day to fawn over his G! <font color=green>[i]I'm so jealous!

Re: Wait for BS or buy BLACK?

If it would be the same price, I would say wait the extra month. WIth the $500 off though, I would find it very hard to turn that down. If they would throw in aluminum pedals, that would seal it for me!

Re: Wait for BS or buy BLACK?

Black on this car is soooooooo nice, but I'm not sure you're ready for the commitment. You've gotta admit you've been having alot of cold feet syndrome during the wait. Black will definitely turn more heads than silver, but man does that come with a price. I'd say my black G stays shiny for about 3 days at a time, tops. But I don't think any silver G could compare with her during those 3 days. It's a Faustian bargain. I definitely have "what have I gotten myself into" moments. Silver is a much safer choice. If you can't see yourself hand-washing your car at least once every 10 days, I'd tell you to back slowly away from the black G.

Re: Wait for BS or buy BLACK?

What color do you want? If you had your mind set on BS then wait for it! I could have done the same thing with a Black or Red coupe but decided to wait because I wanted blue.... I even passed by an available DG two weeks ago. Yes I may go crazy or be crazy for going with blue, but that's what all your good friends on the forum are for, to keep you slain while you wait! Just make sure you get what you want when it's all said and done.

Re: Wait for BS or buy BLACK?

Well Considering I am the salesman that Gforce got ahold of through this wonderful website, I would have to agree with all those who love black. Sure it may be hard to keep clean, but damn is it the best looking color on the car. And besides, there arent too many black coupes on the road in New York, let alone the country. My manager told me he gave you 500 off sticker on the phone and I was shocked to say this least. So grab the deal man, lets get you riding by tommorrow night, or as soon as you can get up here

Re: Wait for BS or buy BLACK?

I've owned 2 black cars in the past, so I didn't have the heart to order a black G. However, during my long wait for delivery, if an unsold black one would've come in that I could've gotten sooner, I have no doubt I would've gone for it.

(I like how JDMan put it - a "Faustian Bargain" -lol)

It's here NOW, and you get a rare discount off MSRP too? I'd jump on it! ... if it's still there when you go back ...

Re: Wait for BS or buy BLACK?

Well I think it's settled. I did want BS when I ordered the car but started to have second thoughts about 2 months in which is the reason why I contacted Speedproduction in the first place. I will be calling in the morning to put a deposit on the car and going to pick it up as soon as possible. You've all been a great help and I cant wait to post my experiances from inside the car!! No more couple weeks wait now it should be just a few days! Can't wait.
