HELP!!!...gas cap lid won't open

Hi...suddenly out of the blue my 2004 coupe gas cap lid won't open. Ive never had a problem before....and Ive tried all the ways to unlock the doors..etc...Help please!!! Pingo

does it click when u press the button? if so get a small screwdriver and press the button and pry it open gently.

what button do you mean?...the gas cap lid does go in when pushed on but won't open...Pingo

no not if the car is locked...there is no button for the lid...you unlock the doors and it should open just by pushing on it....thanks for the suggestion though..you'll love your G...what kind did you get? Pingo

pingo, this happened to my friend... theres something wrong with your "solenoid"...
the mechanic just broke his so now anyone can get into his gas tank

here's your problem



undo the snaps in the trunk, reach in to the fender (easy), feel around for the notched stick. Pull it. Door released..

You can easily unplug it to leave it unlocked. or even remove it. Dont pry on it, theres no reason to break anything when it takes 30 secs and a pocket knife to pop the trunk liner tabs.

thanks TimW....I was going to go in there...but I still have half a tank to get to the dealer...guess I'll let them do it. This system seem kinda stupid though? Pingo
