Lowering the Drivers Seat

Has anyone lowered the drivers seat? If you did, how much lower did it go?

I'm 6'6" and my hair is touching the frame for the sun roof, and there's no way I'll get a helmet on.

Yes, tere was a thread that was posted here before the message board change. I am not sure what it was entitled but it was something free you could do to adjust underneath the driver's seat that supposedly lowered it around 1/2" to maybe even 3/4". Hopefully someone else can point that out to you.

I would be interested in that also

I have just been so busy I haven't looked
I want to lower the seat if possible, and also move the the seat controls away from seat frame toward the trans hump, either with spacers or by bending

Absolutely unbelievable. I'm 6'2". The only flaw I have found in my new G35C is that my hair brushes on the roof. I got a new haircut, but it still rubbed. How annoying. How pickey! I just went to my garage, spent ten minutes with a wrech and flashlight and got almost an inch of extra headroom. Now I don't have to buzzcut my head. Thank you Zguy. I was unable to get this method to work. The little piece that follows along the worm gear (or drive screw) did not have any flats on it and my plyers and vice grips kept marring the surface.

How did you guys get a good clamping force on that part? Also, did you finally lock down on it and then move the seat switch or did you crank it down 1/8 of a turn at a time?

TIA.

I was able to adjust that piece which wasn't even a bolt... But I didn't really notice anything... Maybe if I was taller I would have...

Same case here. When I finally got a grip on the the screw with the pliers the seat switch/motor is not strong enough to pull it and I don't have enough space under the seat (all the way up) to manouvre the pliers

Has anyone tried this on an '05 yet? I'm pretty sure the only way I'll be able to fit comfortably is if I adjust the seat.

Thanks.

I did it on my 05 coupe - I did while I had the seat out.
I used vise grips, got moved down then pinched it again to insure it doesn't move.
I allowed maybe another 1/2" lowering.

I also 'alter' the seat control switch pod so it doesn't cut into my leg....

I'm only 5'9" and there's hardly any clearance when I have my helmet on...
