The high price is definitely a package... Performance is one of the highlights for the 30k price. As you can see, the vq35de is pretty damn efficient for a v6. It is high revving and provides enough power and torque than some v8 configured engines.

Let's look into a mustang coupe for an example:

4.0L v6 = 210 HP @ 5250 rpm, 240 lbs @ 3500 rpm
4.8L v8 = 300 HP @ 5750 rpm, 320 lbs @ 4500 rpm

I am not a rocket scientist but I can see how the vq series engines are one of the most revered... M3 owners can say the same against the g35/350z and the vq35de's.

Also, there are small differences that sum into a large lump. Take for the 50/50 weight distro, excellent brake system, forged aluminum suspension system, very low drag coefficient, drive-by-wire throttle, etc etc etc.... the list goes on and on!

Once again, the price is not because of HP value, but rather the whole package that makes the car balanced. And that is some good damn value.

That is actually not true at all! Take notice to the features of a G and you get great power, handling and luxury for a phenominal price really. My point

BMW 330 PP $40K ++ 235hp........heck a BMW 325 has under 200hp and costs well over $30K, entry level Benz as well! Audi A4, well over $30K, S4 is 340hp and costs $55K, are all those "chump cars"?

The american cars are putting out impressive HP, but consider the "whole" package before you start making statements that the G is underpowered for the price! Those american cars will also PLUMMETT in residual value compared to the G and you WILL pay dearly for insurance on that monster V8 HP!

I asked him how much he paid, he said around 35 large. Same price for a pretty much fully loaded coupe. But honestly for the amount of money we pay for are coupe's there atleast should have alot more HP. Yes are cars have nice interiors, and systems, but his GTO interior wasn't that bad. But honeslty i think us infiniti and nissan lovers deserve a little more HP in are car

Why does GM have so much trouble selling GTO's then?

I believe the G35 coupe is 52/48 weight distro, but that was by design for handling and such.

G35's may not have as much HP as the American muscle cars (Mustang & GTO), but if you compare it to similar cars from other Japanese & German makes, the G suddenly looks like a great deal. I don't believe the Mustang or the GTO has the same level of sophistication as the G. The Mustang still uses a live rear axle and the GTO is actually a pretty old Holden Monero if I'm not mistaken.
To me the combination of style and performance in the G coupe is very tough to beat.

Thats called marketing. I think they just didn't reach the 50% mark so they said "well, 52% is better." Look at Porsche...their cars have a rear bias yet they run rings around most front bias cars.

Maybe you wouldn't catch so much flak if you bumped the grammer and spelling skills up a couple of notches. It hurts my eyes to read "ur" posts.

american is not equal to japanese or german.

horse power isnt everything.
interior, handling, drivetrain, braking, .... i can go on...

i hope by now you can figure out the answer to your question.

bottom line a better car will drive the price of the car.
