Nismo Bumper Help

So I’ve decided to purchase a poly Nismo bumper. I’m making arrangements to get it painted but I’m wondering if it’s necessary to install the bumper before I take it in, in order for them to color match with the rest of the body perfectly or is it possible to just leave it off. Also I’d like to try to save a buck and try installing the bumper myself but I’m curious how difficult it would be to prep and insert it. Is it an easy direct bolt on process or will I most likely run into fitment issues and will have to require extra drilling and cutting? I’ve searched and found DYI install threads here in the forum but since the none of the pictures won’t load the descriptions don’t make much sense and leave me confused. Any help is appreciated.

Most every aftermarket bumper will require a fair amount of prep before it's ready to be installed and painted. If you're not familiar with this type I strongly urge you to let a professional do it. I also strongly recommend a poly bumper vs. a fiberglass one, especially for the front. Fiberglass is just too brittle and damages very easily. It seems to be a consensus on here that Outcast Garage is the preferred vendor for these.

I recently installed a Kuruma bumper on my G lately, I downloaded the FSM just to see the diagram where all the bolts are located. Took me at least an hour and a half to install since it was my first try.

I had to drill holes where the undertray mount that holds the bottom bumper and installed u-nuts to hold the bolts. Fairly easy, you can do it, cordless drill is your best-friend!
