2006 G35 Stock Alarm

I've had my car for 12 years and I never knew it had a stock alarm. A couple of days ago I locked my car from the inside and unlocked only my driver door from the inside because that side was visible to me while I was out of the car. I went back to get into the car using the unlocked driver door and the alarm went off. I was shocked! I never knew it had an alarm therefore I didn't know how to turn it off! After starting the car several times it went off. How do I turn the thing off and why did it go off anyway? Also, after arriving home, I got out of the car and the alarm went off again. The manual doesn't tell you how to turn it off and now I'm afraid to go anywhere....help please!

The unlock button on the fob disables the system, however, putting the key in the ignition and turning to ON is supposed to disable the system as well.

Check your fob to make sure the button isn't stuck or something.

Hi,

I don't have a key fob......I tried putting the key in the ignition and that didn't work. I had to do it several times for it to turn off but I know there has to be an easier way. I saw a post say using the key to unlock the door would help so maybe I should try that?

If you don't have the push button start then just go buy a fob for $25 at AutoZone. It's cosmetically identical to the OEM one, only difference is the writing on the back is English and not Japanese.

Programming is simple and does not require the dealership.

Twelve years and you never read the owners manual?
When I purchased my 06 it came with two key fobs and an owners manual

Confirmed with the owners manual that the system is armed by either:
-lock from the key fob
-pressing the door LOCK button
-using the key to lock the door

The security indicator light will turn red and then flash to indicate it is armed.

System is DISARMED by:
-pressing the unlock button on the fob
-pressing the unlock button on the door panel
-unlocking the the door with the key

If the alarm is activated it can be silenced and disarmed by either pressing the unlock button on the fob or by turning the ignition to ACC with the key.

It sounds like your system is malfunctioning and might require a trip to Nissan for a diagnostic.
