Did i get Good deal?!!

man, you are doing yourself a great deal of injustice if you dont call the dealer and tell them you are cancelling your order. I realize you want the car, and are obviously willing to pay a premium for it but that doesn't mean you have to. Telling them you are going to cancel your order (which you will have to bluff since you want the car so badly) will certainly get you a better price. They've done the work already, and it makes economic sense to make $1000 over invoice at this point than to lose you all together. In any state, including Colorado, $1000 > $0. The trick is to commit to your words, and if you are willing to prove to them you WILL cancel if they can't come down, you will come out ok. You are in a great position to negotiate on your terms right now, because they can either make something or nothing, the ball is in their court. Trust us on this man... if you do it right, they will come down on the price.
In fact if you dont feel comfortable in this situation, I would be willing to make the call to the dealership on your behalf, stating that you have requested that I handle the current situation. If that would put you at ease, PM me and I will give you my contact information and will be happy to take a few minutes out of my day to place the call and play the game with them.

Deposit
The deposit is refundable. If they say otherwise they are not telling you the truth. Take the advice of the previous posts. If for some strange reason you are unable to get lower than MSRP, then the deposit is subtracted from the selling price, not added. The dealer is taking advantage of someone who has no experience with car buying. Listen to others on this board. Get advice from other Colorado 6mt 2005 purchasers. Don't feel rushed to buy, that puts you in a weak negotiating positon.

I agree - either this is a joke or this kid is seriously naive. The prices you have are full MSRP on the vehicle - as someone else pointed out, "Manufacturer's SUGGESTED Retail Price." That means it's all subject to negotiation. You can do seriously better than that if you're willing to negotiate. Of course, if you've already signed the purchase contract, it's too late - you'll lose your $500 deposit. On the other hand, if you work out a more reasonable deal elsewhere, you can still do better overall even if you write off that $500.
As a point of comparison, I got my '05 sedan/5AT for almost $1,100 below invoice (thanks to the Nissan VPP). Others are getting anywhere from invoice to invoice +$1,000 or so, which will still save you several thousand dollars off that price.
Geez, I hate to think this might not be some weird trolling joke . . .

I paid 1600 under MSRP. for my 6MT with everything except front lip and side skirts (Navi, Premium, Aero package, Splash Guards, Sirius, Trunk Mat). That's including all the paperwork but not tax.
There are people that have done better and my hat's off to them (Im talkin to you guys who hussled without VPP
) *grumble*
I know it depends on where you live, but trust, you can do better man.
