How can I get the top clock bezel flush to the dash?

This is minor I know but aesthetically annoying. The right side of the upper clock bezel trim its flush to the dash but the left side tilts upward about a quarter or an inch. I have even tried a used one from another G35 and it tilted also. Is this a common problem? I didn't even pay close attention until I replaced the factory radio and after putting the trim pieces in I saw this. If this is normal or if not if there is a solution then I would appreciate it. My coupe is a 2005 so maybe this is 13 years of wear. I don't want to glue it down because of maybe having to remove it but if that is the case then so be it. If gluing is the solution then please let me know what kind you used or what is your recommendation to solve this, if it is even a problem to begin with. Thanks.

I think most if not all 05-06 sedans/coupes have this issue. I bought my G 9 years ago with 47K miles on it and mine was that way then and it still is after 100K more miles. Not better or worse, exactly the same. I just accepted it's a quirk of our cars and would live with it. Kinda like the multitude of squeaks/rattles that are so common on the first gen G's.

You could probably make some kind of dowel to pin it in place, another option would be to weigh it down from the top until level and use hot glue in the crack (carefully, a little goes a long way), hot glue stays flexible and I use it for various dash repairs on classics so I know it adheres to vinyl and the underlying foam.

If it bothers you that bad you could wrap it with vinyl to beef it up and will probably fill that gap. You can order samples from yourautotrim for cheap and find what matches the dash. Should be an easy piece to wrap.

Thanks for the advice. I think I'll either try gluing it down or just live with it. It helps to know that I'm not the only one who has this so-called problem. It just seemed odd that the right side is flat to the dash and the left is tilted that annoying 1/4 inch...but it is a 13 year old car and I could have worse problems. Otherwise it is a good looking vehicle that people have complimented me for it.

If that's your biggest problem the car is doing pretty good!
