KeyFob Modification- Flip Key

So Ive been cruising some past threads and came across an interesting mod that I really want. To turn our fob/ key into one flip key. Using either a mazda or VW housing.
Wanted to see if anyone here has this mod done. It requires some soldering and re-wiring so it looks like its not for novices. Im thinking of giving it a shot but Id rather pay some one
who knows how to do it so its done right. If anyone wants to take on this job pm me!!!

Just got this in the mail this week. Its called the Keyport Slide 3.0
Its pretty sweet. Theres different inserts you can install in the housing along with your car key.
For example there is a pen, flashlight, multi tool and knife. Only thing this is missing is it does not
incorporate the remote fob.

What do you mean "I programmed it" you mean you decoded the BCM and used NDS2 to program the BCM right?

If you did the FOB programming (lets you unlock the doors) that's completely different than programming the BCM which allows the car to recognize the transponder ID chip inside the key so the vehicle will actually start. Typically people go to Nissan to have their BCM programmed.

Yes, I programed the fob to lock and unlock the doors and trunk. What's interesting is that I bought an extra key and key fob as a spare of eBay about a year ago, followed the instructions and they key works no problem, I didn't have to take it to Nissan. Not sure why this one doesn't do the same...

Sounds like someone has had the NATS system disabled on your vehicle, I believe it can be done by the dealership via Consult-III but it can definitely be done with an Uprev tune.

The chances of you getting another matching 32 bit transponder is 1 in 4,294,967,296

I had to take the transponder chip out of one of my stock keys and put it in the flip key or else it thought I was using the valet key.
It is curious that your previous ebay key works. I think you get x number of consecutive starts with a non-chipped key before immobilizer makes your car a fancy driveway decoration.

If NATS is enabled you get ZERO starts with a key it doesn't recognize.

Hmm well with those odds then it might have been disabled but I wonder why the first eBay key worked and not this one. I guess I can tear apart the key and get the transponder out and swap it in to the new flip key..

You could also try by holding the other key directly on the lock cylinder when trying to start the engine with the other key, the BCM should read that transponder and PASS on the NATS check.

O wow ok just tried that and it worked! But it only works when I put the original key next to it, if the new key is by itself then it won't start..
