If your insurance company feels it is fraud I imagine they will will want to sue his pants off and they will involve the police as well to help them. They are always trying to reduce fraud.

that is BS ... a known friend or relative can not be a witness!
they can make up any story they like if that witness count!

Call the guy tell him you want to settle. When you meet, move your right hand down to your crotch, grab your crotch, make an up and down motion with your hand while you grab your crotch and while keeping a straight face proceed by speaking the following words "Right here buddy". And when he asks you 'Where is the money that.."...cut him off and again proceed to repeat the above again repeating "Right here buddy, its all right here."

1. you mentioned that he CLAIMED that you hit him but you did not write whether you actually did or not.

2. No Way in Hell the PD gave him your info.

3. He claimed you hit him... tell him to PROVE IT and to take you to court... I Guarantee hell move on to the next sucker... He can say anyone hit him, he just happened to target you... I can lean out my window, write down a license plate of any car that drives by and call them up and tell them that they hit me...

Don't settle with the guy. Friends in the car are not credible witnesses.
