Tein Basis/Basic Z are pretty good for the price. Pretty much the cheapest new, non-Ebay crap coilovers you can get.

^Just be aware these don't offer adjustable dampening, just height. A lot of folks here go with BC but new they're over $600.

It allows the coilover to give a firmer or softer ride depending on the setting.

The eBay ones aren’t bad like people say they are.

On the flip side you know the aren't a quality piece and you're making compromises you'll feel every time you take a corner or go over a bump.

To the OP: If you're looking to lower your car you'll also need to find and install front and rear camber kits, or you'll burn through $200 tires like a Subaru driver empties vape tanks.... You can get these used for around $250 for the whole set if you wait for partouts. Just something else to think about when dropping one of these on a budget.

You might consider getting the camber kits used, dropping the car on used lowering springs/stock 350z springs, and dailying the car on struts, planning to install coilovers and rebuild the old camber kits when its time for new struts. Then you go sell the lowering springs for the same price you bought em for.

You obviously haven't ridden on a set of quality coilovers. The ebay ones suck like csw said.

This is a by product of it. The real reason for preload, compression, rebound damping... is to keep the tires connected to the road. That's the purpose of suspension - to keep the tires on the road.

It will be more harsh because higher spring rate, but you will be much lower .
