Picked up a wrecked 06 Automatic for it's motor

But I noticed it has a key fob and ignition without a key, and doors with just a button to open it. Was this an auto only option? Has this ever been swapped over to a manual 2006 car?

Thanks

You're talking about the IntelliKey. I think it was an option for manual 06's also.

Interesting, so I wonder what it takes to swap it into a car that didn't come with it. Is it programed to the car and takes a dealer to get it working? Etc.

The wiring sounds like a nightmare.

Is the picture you posted from the donor car or from your car? It's a rev-up motor and wouldn't have been in an 06 5AT.

It's an Intellikey and I have one in my 06 auto. The key usually slides out of the fob and then you can also put it in the ignition if the battery does. There are several antennas and control modules that it works with, but I don't think there is any difference in the engine harnesses. A new key from the dealer is about 300 last time I checked and they have to cut them and program there as well. I've heard of people getting a locksmith with the right equipment to program them as well. I've ordered blank keys in the past with an Infiniti logo from eBay on the fob and had the dealer program for me. There is a serial number you need that you can find on your existing fob or key and then you search for one that matches.

That's the motor from our 06 MT car. It needs the crank polished and new rod and crank bearings to be running. Shop didn't check oil properly and left oil level to low, damaged the bottom end.
