*New Build* - Rebuilt motor / SC / And more
Hey Folks,
So I bought me a built motor and a Vortech SC kit. My goal is 500-600hp reliably. I am planning to swap my stock motor in the next couple months. I am mechanically inclined and anxious to learn but I don't know a whole lot about engines and I have never pulled one. I want to make sure I take care of all the bits and bobs while i have the motor out as to prevent extra work. So please help me out and share any insight you may have, i'd definitely appreciate it. The more knowledge the better!
What the motor "new" has:
- Weisco pistons
- Eagle h beams
- Arp main studs
- Arp head bolts
- I need to install a new crankshaft (oem)
What I plan to do while I have motor out:
- Heat foil firewall
- New headlights
- Paint Plenum
- Add Plenum spacer
- Paint timing cover
- Replace Radiator hose with aftermarket silicon
- New Flywheel (recommendations?)
- New clutch (recommendations?)
- Wire tuck
- motor mounts
- Nismo fuel pump
- Larger injectors
- Plugs and wires
- Aluminum Radiator
- Oil pan upgrade (stillen, greddy of just get a z1 spacer?)
Optional/curious. Any opinions appreciated:
- Aftermarket oil Cooler?
- Engine dampener
- Catch can
- paint/clean engine bay
- Headers heatwrap
- Engine management/tune (recommendations?)
- Guages (boost/temp/oil etc...)
- Any seals i should check/change?
If anyone can please chime in on any other things I should do maintenance or performance wise while i have everything apart? I definetly want to be efficient with my time.
Should I Install the motor and SC at the same time, or get it running first then add SC?
I would like to keep the thread updated with pics as to help anyone out in the future.
Thanks!

Update 1/2/19 :
Had a super productive weekend and disassembled most of the motor. Found the damage. Picking up the new crank on thursday. I'm a little concerned with the timing. Do I need to top dead center the motor before taking the chain off if the oil pump? I'm going to need to turn the crank to get at the piston rod bolts. Will this mess up any timing or anything? Trying to avoid any goofs.
I need to order new bearings. Any aftermarket recommendations?
