Tires/Rim Size

Anyone know the rim size of the 6MT tires/Performance Tires on the Coupe. I know they are 18 inches, but what is the width. Thanks

Yeh bro, Got the info from the O/M. The 18" wheels are 8" wide front and back, with a 30mm offset. L8r bro...

Reputedly the 18s are 8 inches wide. After further measurement, however, I still must insist that my 17s are 8.5 inches wide.

Nobody else owns a tape measure? Somebody back me up. That half inch is crucial to my self-esteem.

Re: Tires/Rim Size

I've just done an overall outside measurement of my stock 18's on my Coupe. It's rough but the outside measurement is 8.5". I believe the measurement they talk about in the book is inside the wheel where the bead sits.
The stock width of the 17" wheels (by the book) is 7.5" for the front and 8" for the rear.............

Re: Tires/Rim Size

I've also measured my winter tire/wheel set to find the stamped measurement of 17 by 7" is actually 8" wide overall.
So it seems the actual size is a little smaller than what it appears to measure up to on the outside................. Hope this helps........

Re: Tires/Rim Size

The width of a wheel is always measured by the inner mounting area where the tire's bead sits, not the actual width of the wheel.

The wheels are 18x8 front and back

245/40/18 tires on the front
275/40/18 tires on the back

Devastating. Must spend $2500 on wider wheels now.

But thanks. It's like my great uncle once said: Never peek up a girl's skirt unless you want your illusions shattered.

Re: Tires/Rim Size

so to save money we could put 245's or 225's all around and be able to rotate... but this would compromise the performance of the car for twisties correct?

Re: Tires/Rim Size

You aren't going to save much by rotating. The performance tires you put on a car like this aren't going to last long enough for rotating to make much of a difference. However, if you're willing to really compromise handling performance, get away from performance tires and get some 60k+ mile touring tires in the same size -- just don't ever take them over 100mph.
