R1 Slotted Rotors Zinc Coating - Gold or Black??

I couldn't find many pictures (or any that had the detail I want) on R1 slotted rotors in zinc colors - I am wondering if anyone has any experience with the Gold or Black colored rotors? Will they stay the orginal color? Has anyone use the gold/black with Brembo option? Any advantage to the color other than appearance? I think the gold may not look good with my gold calipers and I currently have silver wheels - so the black may be the best choice. I saw online that the coating can wear off, so just wanted some feedback from you guys.

Buying the semi-metallic pads as well, since I would rather have dirty wheels and great brakes than the other way around -

Sitting on $2k worth of parts - just need some garage time to install! Thanks!

The brake pads will wear off the coating they contact so the protection area does not include the area under the pads..

Gary is correct, the coating will wear off as soon as you bed the system. Personally I'd go with black - the gold will discolor with heat and will show more debris than black.

Ordered the black + semi metallic pads for that extra bite - with the PRESDAY sale event, was less than $265.00 shipped!! I went ahead and ordered a set of SS lines from concept Z as well - that along with a complete fluid flush ought to put my brakes back to that BREMBO level I am expecting.

WOW - parts all over my garage - hope to get this all together during spring break -
