I know that it is recommended by everyone here to change the oil at 1,000 miles, but thats besides the point. I bought my car with about 140 miles on it, because it was transferred from another dealer. Could it be possible that the driver who drove it from dealer to dealer drove it so hard which caused my tranny to fail and the oil to be black as hell?

sorry for the long post, im just **** with all the problems im having with this brand new car.
forget the oil (for now). TRANNY REPLACED?! i would have demanded a NEW car. your car has been 'tainted' now. sorry for the news. but you should NEVER have accepted this from the dealer. you didnt say when, but when the dealer installed the new tranny, it was too late. you might be in for a long 'relationship' with their service dept. sorry dude. good luck.

thanks everyone for all your input... half thinks i should be concerned while the other half think not.. at this point, i really don't know whats okay and whats not. I can't send my oil in anymore b/c its in the oil pan already. if i took it out, i don't think it'd be accurate.

I really wish infiniti would just buy back my car so i can get a new one.

Just put new oil in there, drive it as if it were normal and if or when it messes up, thats when you complain about the car. If you drive it for years and never have a problem, then you should be fine.

About your shaking at hwy speeds, is it your steering wheel?

If so, that could just be your rims.

it is my steering wheel. actually, it feels like the entire car shakes in general. I have stock sport suspension and stock 19" wheels.

sounds like u need to get your tires balanced (for the steering wheel shake). entire car shaking? i would get that checked out with your dealership. sorry to hear u having so many problems already. i had a nightmare with a former car once and i must admit it wasn't fun. driving the car to the dealer all the time became very frustrating. imo i would take the car in and have a sit down with the service manager concerning your vehicle. u paid a lot of money and the car shouldn't be running the way it is. state your concerns and even involve the salesperson if it gets to that. hope everything works out.

your oil being black probably means you do alot of city driving, where the car runs rich for the first 10 mins. You'd have more to worry about if it wasnt black. Contamination will usually make your oil look like milky brown coffee.
