Gas Gauge Meter

Do you guys have a problem with the gas gauge after you fill up. The meter does not go up all the way to the full line. When I drove about 140 miles it was at the half way line already. I thougt the car was eating up gas like crazy, and about 270 the light came up. So I went to fill up, I only filled up 12 gallons with plenty to spare. Do any of you guys have this problem?

i have the same problem...first 4-6 mos would fill up all the way and then some. but noticed last few fill ups that the gauge is always short about 1 line from full. also noticed its not costing as much to fill up as normal...although gas prices are down. basically used to fill up from 15-17 gallons...now it wont go past 15-16 gallons....i do park on inclines frequently so that may be my problem. I also notice my fuel gauge has a premature low fuel light when i first start up and takes a while to adjust (also depending on how i am driving)

this is a repost...yes, a lot of G's have had this problem, including mine, and there doesn't seem to be a fix...

I complained about this to my dealer and they said there is a fix to this problem. He said to just make an appointment to have it fixed free.

It's the "fuel sending unit". Both of mine were replaced and now the fuel gauge is normal again.
