2003 G35 Coupe - Intermittent Fan - High to very Low- Replaced Relay/Blower already

A little help please. Newbie G35 coupe owner. I currently just purchased a 2003 G35 coupe project/restoration toy car. The AC/Fan speed is currently intermittent. It usually works on high but than it turns off and on. Fan speed is intermittent. I replaced the relay yesterday with a Nissan OE relay. Still the same symptoms. I just replaced the blower fan with CARQUEST Flanged Vented CCW Blower Motor w/ Wheel from Advance Auto Parts. The old blower motor currently installed was the same part. Is there a blower resistor that I need to replace or is that built in on the ac climate/head unit? Any help/guidance will be appreciated. Trying to resolve it on my own before I take it to a shop to diagnose/resolve😉. Looking at old threads, this forum has helped me already😀 Thanks!! Wife has me on a very limited budget for this additional non need toy car😉 so have to try my best to do everything on this car with my limited mechanical background😉

Other than the current intermittent fan issue, car runs very well considering its age/high mileage..I have always admired the lines of the g35 coupe when it first came out. I am a car guy unfortunately. I use to own 2017 Porsche 911 and a 2017 Corvette C7. For a cheap restoration/toy car compared to some of my past expensive toy cars, I am pretty impressed with overall the balance/ride/responsiveness of the g35😀

FYI: Current reconditioning status/work done
Paint correction: Black paint😉 headlight reconditioning
lowe control arms
ball joints
Automatic Transmission fluid drain/fill
coolant flush
brake flush
pcv valve replacement
engine air filter
cabin air filter
Fixed air bag light issue
Fixed passenger window issue

Future:
spark plugs/coils
throttle body/air flow sensor cleaning
new brake rotors/pads

Are you sure you replaced the CORRECT relay? There are 2-4 relays on the back of Fuse Block - J/B and they're all identical. Pull the relay and see if the fan works, then you'll know if it was the correct one.

Thank you for the feedback sir. From an old thread it looks like I needed to replace the bottom right? I replaced the bottom right closest to the park break. Coupe models only have two relays right? My build date is October 2002.

Old thread:
“Here's a picture looking up from the floor of the car. The blue relay on the right is the winner. I was able to grab it top and bottom and slowly wiggle out.”

From a diagram it looks like the other relay to the left is for accessories?

Do my coupe model have 4 relays? Should I replace top right if it’s available? Guess I will have to get in there again. A Pain in back of fuse box location.

I think your climate control panel is messed up. If its the original, those are notorious for failing and causing all kinda issues.

Well I definitely replaced the right relay after testing both relays. For the hell of it, I switched relays and started working with non intermittent issues. Woohoo! Knock on wood. Hoping this is a long term fix. If not, your right possibly the climate control/possible new JDM DIM unit. Don’t know if wife will approve that though😉.

Thanks guys for the help/inputs. Owe ya guys some beer😉

Yeah on my 2006 it was the relay closest to the brake pedal. Possibly you got a bad relay or possibly it was just a bit of corrosion and the simple act of unplugging/plugging it again scratched off the surface corrosion.

I agree, worst possible place to put a freaking relay...

Just got back from a wishful thinking celebration spirited drive on my fan issue. Unfortunately the climate control fan gremlins came back again. So it looks like I need a new climate control/radio unit or new JDM double DIN kit/radio?

Any other possible fixes/suggestions, please let me know.

Worried that even if I get a new JDM double Din/radio which will be more expensive possible fix, that the intermittent fan problem will still not be resolved.

Thanks..
