Please Help With Brake Pad Selection/Size

I have bought 3 different sets of brake pads for my G and not 1 pair has fit. I have an 04 coupe with Brembo calipers. All the pads I've gotten have been too small even when they were advertised as "for Brembo".

I have the two quick release pins that make changing the pads a breeze if I could only find one the right size.

The ones I've tried recently were StopTech Brake Pads - Street Series 308.09600, which came with the hardware (new pins and metal clip to hold pads in place) but were too small.

If anyone could give me a part number for pads that fit Brembo calipers on a 2004 that would be awesome.

The center-to-center on the holes for the pins is about 4 1/8". All the ones Ive gotten were more like 3.5"

Give https://z1motorsports.com a call. They should be able to either set you up or provide part numbers for your specific application.

All the pads online are 120mm or 4 3/4" but my pads are 5 1/2". But that is a good idea, I'm going to have to wait to return these pads though, starting college again is hurting the piggy bank.

Here you go

i have an 03 6mt, with Brembos and just had new geomet slotted rotors from R1 and centric Posi quiets from tire rack installed a week and a half ago. No issues installing either and the pads came with all hardware.

Can you take a picture of your existing calipers, just want to verify you have the actual OEM Brembo calipers. It's really odd that you would go through 3 different suppliers that all delivered the wrong pads, that's why I want to make sure they're the STOCK Brembo calipers and not something else.

It's Friday night 9PM where I am but tomorrow I plan on doing a little work on the car. I need to install new hardware on my header to catalytic converter with some locking nuts and also replacing one of the gaskets and checking the rest of the exhaust system for leaks and / or making sure all the bolts and nuts are torqued down. I'll take the wheels off the front and take a few pics of the calipers and take the pads out too while I'm at it. I'll be back tomorrow morning.

I would spray the existing bolts down with some PB Blaster tonight, they can be very difficult to remove.

Don't bother with locking hardware, just retorque the bolts to the specified 46ft/lbs, I also recommend re-checking torque again after a week or so of driving. If you use locking hardware it will probably just rust out and cause future issues.

Here is a pick of the calipers with the wheels on. I didn't have as much time as I thought I would the other day. The brake pad pictured is the ones I keep getting sent but they are the wrong size (too small) and the shape of the pads on my G are a little different. At the top of the pads near where the holes are for the pins there is a small divot. Also my pads are about 3/4" bigger.

Hard to tell from the pic but almost certain those are NOT the OEM Brembo calipers. Shape is completely wrong. Need a better picture with the wheel removed.

Those look almost exactly like the brembo calipers on a friends Lancer EVO. I think someone did a brembo swap on your vehicle but from some OTHER brembo equipped vehicle.

You're going to need to remove them and look for a serial number and take some really good pictures to figure out what you're dealing with and probably quite a bit of research to figure out exactly what pads you need. I'm not aware of any brembo swaps to the G35 that used other manufacturers equipment like that.

You likely have some other custom hardware on the front to hold that caliper.

Now I'm curious though, what calipers are on the REAR of the vehicle?

I've changed a rotor and the pads in the rear when I got the vehicle, one of the caliper pistons was seized and had to be replaced. I got the parts from the local auto store and everything went smoothly so I'm pretty sure the rear is all OEM. But like said the guy that originally owned the car was a mechanic and took core of the G, he was the one who put the lightweight flywheel in. When I get home from work today I'll take the wheel off and take some pics of the caliper and pull the pads.

I actually tried reading the part number off the pads but they've been on so long the info is so faded it's hard to read or tell what the numbers/letters are.

Is this another example of the fake caliper covers?

Lol I forgot all about those plastic snap-on "brembo" covers. I think the OP would have noticed if there was a plastic cover snapped onto his calipers though since he's had them off multiple times trying to find the correct pads.
