G35 Custom Wheel Configurator

Hey guys,

I wrote a simple wheel configurator for my350z.com about a year ago and thought I'd port it over to support the G35 coupe. It allows you to see how various aftermarket wheels might look on your G. So far I only have one color (Diamond Graphite) and about 15 wheels that were submitted a long time ago on the Z board.

Check it out - http://g35.thedrennans.com

If you want me to add more wheels, send me the url (or post here) of wheel pics. Please make sure they are perfect profiles of the wheels. You can see some of these weren't and they look goofy, even with my attempts to fix them in photoshop. Let me know what you think.

Enjoy,

Looking good!
If there was a way to tell what the wheel actually was, it would help when deceiding to price and buy.
Thanks!

That is the coolest thing..how'd you do that? Any wheel internet site should have something like that!! Maybe the web master of this site could set that up so that before members go out and buy wheels, they could see what they look like.

Thanks for the compliments guys...

I've grabbed the twheels from performancenissan and G games. I'll get them added.

Bruces12: The ST-7s on that site are at too much of an angle for me to fix. Can you find a more straight-on pic from another site? Again, the closer to a perfect profile (looking directly at teh side of the wheel, not at an angle), the better. As for how I did it, it was relatively simple dHTML. In simple terms, I'm just overlaying wheel images in just the right spot to cover up the OEM rims, which means they aren't necessarily to scale.

TopTech, weaksauce: I'm no wheel-o-phile either. If you guys happen to know what these wheels are, let me know and I can put a title tag on them so that mousing over them will show a tooltip popup with that info. I'll do that to these new wheels as they are added.

Dave - very nice. Very professionally done. I actually made one of these for a tire company about 5 years ago, but it's no longer there. This was just a simple 10 minute job so I could see how the G looked dressed up.

If G35driver.com wants to use this on their site, I'd be happy to let them, though I'd like to beef it up a bit, try to get the other car colors up, labels on the wheels etc.

I remember seeing something like this a while back, but you were able to change wheels size ( 17-20" ) and lower car from 1-4". Gives you a better idea how it would look with larger wheels and if you decide to lower your G. If you can add those features, it would be awesome.
