im not getting spark, im not sure why, but ive checked the wiring and it gets 12v at the coil and it has ground and the wires between the ecm and the coils are good too.

Does the tach move when you are cranking the engine? Have you scanned for any hidden codes?

No it doesn't move at all, but I can see rpm's when I hook up a scanner.. . And it says there's no codes

 

I would add a gallon of fresh gasoline to verify there's actually some in the tank, the gas gauge is pretty notorious for failing and showing that you have 1/2 tank when actually you're 100% empty.

 

That would fix the no spark issue?

 

Ohhh my bad, I thought you WERE getting spark.

No tach + no spark = usually a crank sensor. Make sure to only replace it with a Hitachi or Genuine Nissan Parts.

hey so this seems strange to me... but today after i put the ckp back in i went to try and start it and the red security light stayed solid... this is the first time its happening and ive been trying to get this car running for quite some time now...oh and before when i would put the key in the ign. and turn it to on the check engine light would come on, but today when the red light stayed on it was gone

 

Hey is it possible to do something to the ignition key or accident? One day the key was fine and the red light would go away with the keys in the ignition... But then the next day it's solid red. I'm so confused

 

Solid red means NATS/IVIS lockout. Key needs reprogrammed probably.

 

Can it just happen all out of the blue like that though?

 

It's happened to other users, personally I've never had the issue.

EDIT: It's also possible for the RFID chip in the key to lose it's signal over time, do you have a second key you can try?
