Exhaust cam sprockets?

Ok so I want to disassemble my rev up exhaust camshaft sprockets for obvious reasons *look at the pics* is there anywhere I can find this information? I'm aware that if the manual doesn't say anything about it that it probably means they don't want it to be taken apart but that's not a good enough answer for me and since mine are already basically worthless (unless I can get this bxtch apart enough to reposition or replace that pin) I might as well donate them to the cause in the name of science! Any insight, ideas, and or constructive criticism is appreciated

Just pull the bolts, there's a magnet clutch inside it so just be careful the pieces don't fall out and break. It looks like your cam sprocket is damaged anyways though soo... I'm guessing the magnet exploded on the inside or something.

ok so when you say it looks damaged are you referring to the pin that is almost gone? I know that the pin I circled is supposed to lock the sprocket into the camshaft.

Also I pulled the bolts and only the gear part came off...I want to try and get it apart more than this if it's possible somehow

What immediately caught my attention was the different in gap between the gap in this photo. Maybe it's just the angle of the photo.

Also, wasn't paying attention earlier and there are no magnets in this component lol. You already saw the magnets when you took the retarder off the front

Oh yea I think it was just the angle cuz the problem I'm having is with the pin I had circled in pink

Ohhh **** I think I know what's wrong with that picture, you're missing the internal snap ring that goes into it. Did you already remove it or something?

I'm not sure why your pin is so short, I definitely remembered mine sticking up more than that though. Does it look like it's been ground down or anything?

Yes I did. Because I'm trying to take the whole thing apart...also forget about that side of the sprocket.. look at the original pictures I posted... the pin that was circled in pink is what I'm talking about

Um it's weird. It looks more like it was pushed in or something. Not necessarily ground down

I definitely don't have any pics of mine but here's a good shot I snagged off of CZP, that's about how I remember mine being. Is part of your dowel broken off and stuck in the camshaft?

Personally I think you should just buy a replacement, I have never taken it APART (just the sprocket when doing timing chains) and don't know how much tension is on that return spring. If might not be easy to get it back together and you can usually get a replacement assembly for under $100 for used ones, here's an example.

Nope..that's the weird part.. it almost looks as if the pin got pushed in or something but I suppose if it wore itself down evenly enough it could look like that

I was actually looking at that same link last night XD. and that's kinda why I wanted to get it apart. Since I can't really use them for anything else might as well get some kind of learning from it right?

Yeah just be careful about that spring return, Maybe wrap some tape around it to keep a little tension on it so it doesn't just kaboom when you take out it's retainer.
