Where to get a reliable used engine?
Where to get a reliable used engine?
Had the car for 2 years, bought it from some kid thinking he didn't abuse it hard enough. Well, I learned my lesson and the head gasket went after 2 years of mostly careful driving. I m gonna keep it and want to do an engine swap. Where can I buy one online with relatively low risk? Looking to spend under $1500.
Look around for your local japanese engine importer. You can get low mile engines through them and the non-revup engine is extremely common. Rev-up is significantly harder to find though.
You can also call Integrity Auto, they are a reputable certified independent service center for Nissan and they might be able to sell you the motor without installation.
Also check with NWminitrucks, he mostly imports complete vehicles but he might be able to toss in a VQ with the next shipment.
There's quite a few options for you in Portland fortunately, my brother has used Wholesale Japanese Engines before. Not sure how far it is from you, he lives in Vancouver, WA and it was only like a half hour drive.
