Internal Work
Internal Work
Hey guys, I’ve got a practically stock 2006 G35 and I just wanted a more detailed look into what I need to do internally to the motor before going boosted, which is the end goal. I understand it will be a slow process and not something that’ll be night and day especially since I don’t have money bags just laying around to drop on everything at one, but I want to get a feel for what I’ll be getting myself into and what is needed to safely push that much power because there’s only so much you can do to it before you’ve got to inside to make more. Thanks for any help and advice in advance.
Anything over 400whp needs rods (might as well do pistons too for lower compression). Anything over 600 who you should sleeve the block. You should upgrade to the HR head gaskets and do the mild Dremel work on the block to accommodate it (super easy) when you have it stripped down.
Rev-Up oil pump.
Other than that it's just your standard porting when putting everything back together.
Anything over 600 WHP you should probably be looking into bigger valves in the heads.
