2004 Coupe 6MT maintenance and fixes

Hey guys, my g is high mileage right now and I honestly rather be proactive and also fix any issues than getting a new car with a payment.

I’m unsure where to start. I feel like my car lags before getting power and the revs don’t match like they used too. Spark plugs were changed about two months ago and clutch last summer but other than that I haven’t had too many issues.

Trying to find suggestions on what issues to look for and maintence schedule. Any suggestion helps.

First and foremost, change all the fluids and filters. If you have the means, see if you can put the car on jackstands or on ramps and check for leaks, wear and tear.

^ Agree, change all of the fluids (Motor oil, differential oil, transmission oil, brake fluid, coolant, and power steering), check your suspension components for any cracked/torn bushings, and check your tires. This basic maintenance makes a big difference in the way the car performs.

You already knocked down two of the more difficult maintenance jobs by changing the spark plugs and the clutch. It would be a good idea to double check the radiator hoses for any leaks. In terms of the suspension, the bushings that often fail would be the lower control arms and the compression rod arm.
