I just picked up an 04 g35 coupe and it has an ebay short ram intake. I know the resonator is deleted, I think you have to do this to install the short ram intake, might be wrong though. Is it possible to revert this mod and go back to stock, if I do will I need to add the resonator back in? The previous owner actually gave me the stock intake, its just a matter of installing it, not sure if I can without a resonator.

 

you can use a 350z z tube with stock airbox, ..... the stock g air tube did have a resonator

 

you could just tape off the hole for the resonator. ricer fix but as long as you layer the tape properly should last a while.

I have a z tube, but just taped off the bottom hole for the stock airbox. I can hear the intake a lot more with both resonators removed.


EDIT: Yes you delete the resonator going along the intake tube when installing an AEM intake, unless you want it to just sit around in your engine bay. you can either get a new resonator and attach it with stock intake, block off the hole on the stock tube (make sure you do it properly) or keep the short ram. is there a reason you want the stock intake instead? jw
