Question Key Fob or Lock Actuator Issue?

I just got some new fobs for my car since I only had one & it looked like ****. I went through the normal programming of the fobs and now the locks barely work whether using the fobs or the door switch. When I push any unlock button (fob or door switch) the locks barely move. Fobs are brand new and should have brand new batteries in them. I'm gonna try getting some brand new batteries to try first but does anyone have any suggestions to this issue?

Not sure why you would think the batteries in the fobs would have anything to do with the locks barely moving. The actuators going bad is a very common issue. They don't always completely die either; sometimes they just barely move, as you witnessed. I had one that one unlock but not lock, and if it was really hot outside it wouldn't unlock either.

The speed of operation of the lock itself is not associated with the key fob. The key fob only provides the signal to the BCM which in turn provides power to the solenoid that locks or unlocks the door. Usually the solenoids weaken with time and cannot provide the push or pull required to activate the lock mechanism. I had the same issue with the passenger door and I replaced the power lock solenoid. Someone has posted a few years ago, some modification to use a cheap aftermarket universal door lock solenoid. I opted to purchase a genuine Nissan part. You can test the door lock by unplugging the lock module and applying 12V DC and see how fast they operate. Does your trunk lock work properly?

The trunk unlocks via the dash & taillight switch. Earlier I went to try to reprogram the fobs thinking I did something wrong and now the fobs don't work nor will it accept the fobs when I press the lock button the 2nd time after the programming confirmation.

What part number did you use? My passenger door won't lock or unlock.

Go to one of the Infinitiparts.com websites and find the Nissan part number. Then google the part number and get additional vendors selling it. Prices vary, just see who offers free shipping and who doesn't to make your decision. I'm sorry but t's been too long since I replaced it in my car and don't have the part number.
