Plenum Spacer in 2007 G35?

I just ordered a Z1 angled Plenum Spacer and I’m contemplating if I should cancel my order before it ships.

I have a 2007 G35 5AT, after the research I’ve been doing I keep reading that the Spacer will do nothing for the G’s and Z’s that are 2006 or newer. Is this true? I’m already a little nervous about the install in the first place and I would hate to add a spacer for nothing.

All opinions help! 🙏🏼

It depends on which engine you have, the 5AT was equipped with the non-revup engine and yes the plenum spacer will be of benefit. The 6MT however was equipped with the rev-up version of the engine and you will also need the Motordyne MREV2 or a non-rev lower plenum that you can modify yourself (not quite as good as Tony's version but you can get it really close).

Ok then you have the NON-revup motor. You can use the plenum spacer.

Revup VQ35DE only came on 6MT 2005-2007. Everything with a 5AT came with the non-rev engine.

So it is worth it to install the Spacer? I’ve been calling Z1 multiple times today because I’m so worried that it’s pointless and I’m just going to hurt my car in the long run.

I was doing a lot of research yesterday and I keep reading that it’s pointless for the newer G 35’s because they fixed the plenum issue that was in the 03-04. I just don’t want to waste my money but it already shipped so unless I want to pay a 25% restocking fee I’m gonna have it.

My main question is if there is any value in adding the Spacer since I have an 07.

Yeah definitely, you will have as much an improvement as any other 2003-2007. There was nothing that was "fixed" about the plenum it's EXACTLY the same from 2003-2007 if you have the non-revup engine.

There is also zero risk of hurting the engine from a plenum spacer, literally zero.
