Clutch problem.... No forward of back... please help..

2005 G35 6 Speed Rev.

So yesterday I was driving along as usual without any problems and came to a stop light. Pressed the clutch pedal in and shifted the shifter into neutral.... (6sp rev engine), Light turned green, pushed the clutch pedal in ( full pedal as normal ) shifted into 1st gear, let off clutch pedal and the car just sit there. Tried sequence over and over again and nothing. Tried reverse and nothing, No gears what so ever. Called tow truck and had the car towed home from there.

So after looking over everything I can see that the slave cylinder is working as when u press the clutch in its moving back and forth as it should but again the car wont move when its release and in gear. Is this a problem some other people have had and if so what is the fix. I dont think the clutch itself could have gone out just like that as I havent had any problems shifting or drivability in the past with it.

NOTE:... I can even push the car forwards with the car in first gear and if im not mistaken I shouldnt be able to do that. Ofcourse clutch fully released and shifter in 1st and pushing the car from outside.

Need some help please. Thank you and god bless

Robert

Front and rear cameras, tire pressure for all four tires can display on screen, folding side view mir
You've got a sixteen year old vehicle.
There are tons of threads on the failure of the CSC
I had a 06G35 manual and the CSC was replaced under warranty by the dealer
If you plan on keeping your vehicle plan on repairing/replacing both the CSC and the Master Cylinder
Good luck

What about other gears, put it into second gear and see if the vehicle moves.

Does the shifter FEEL like you're able to shift between gears? The CD00# is a very notchy transmission so you can easily feel the gear engagement with or without the engine running.

Wont move in any gear, I dont have to even push the clutch in to change the gears. Not for sure if that is relevant in these cars. Shifter feels fine and u can hear it going into the other gears as normal.

I replied to your PM but I have another question since I read it before coming across this reply on your thread. You can shift through ALL the gears INCLUDING reverse while the engine is running without using the clutch correct?

If yes then you probably exploded something in the clutch,or pressure plate, possibly sheared off the flywheel bolts, possibly broke the transmission input shaft but you typically will know you screwed that up because of a gigantic car-shaking THUD and then nothing, and the gearbox might feel like it's full of gravel when you shift.

I'm betting clutch or pressure plate died a horrible death but follow the steps I sent in the PM about spinning the rear tires to ensure it wasn't a CV axle, or driveshaft u-joint/carrier bearing shaft.

It's very uncommon, VERY VERY uncommon to blow the tranny internals if you're only pushing stock HP numbers so I wouldn't get too worried about that yet, drain/fill the fluid and look for metal though just to help expedite the troubleshooting.
