That’s called a tunnel stay.
in the service manual under rear suspension.

thank you, mine is fully rusted out and about to come apart need to get a new one!

Yea I had just taken mine out and wire brushed, sprayed rust reformer and painted with high temp engine paint
mine was a little worse than the one in your pic

Yea that one is pretty crusty
dont know why they used that material for that
that was the only thing rusted on mine except fo some bolt heads

I would definitely source a used one, search for "transmission tunnel W brace" that's typically what it's sold as on eBay.

It's a little pricey for what it is, but if that doesn't bother you then go for it. Occasionally Z1 has used ones in stock. I think they're typically $145.
