Can i delete my rear breaks?

Moderator EDIT: Do not delete your rear brakes, they are a critical piece of safety equipment.

Hello everyone, i am trying to find out if i can delete my rear breaks on my 05 g35 coupe base model rwd. I'm honestly just tired of having to deal with them.

If it's a manual you will lose your parking brake. Even if it's an automatic I would strongly advise against deleting the rear brakes. Besides contributing to stopping force it's also part of the stability control system (VDC).

Sorry i forgot to add that my g is automatic. I never really use stability control (VDC) because I'm just use to driving it like that. I'm not really sure if that will harm anything on my car but that might be a question for another thread. I was just wondering if it's possible to do safely, and if so how might i go about doing it. Ps. I appreciate all info given 😎

Even on an automatic, you will still lose your parking brake. Also, I would guess removing the rear brakes would make your ABS system lose its śhit.

What is the reason you want to delete them? Theres gotta be a fix to whatever problems its giving you.

I should have known the autos probably used the same setup. I didn't think ABS would be affected since the system senses the wheel hub. Does the controller sense brake line pressure during self-test??

Regardless I agree that there should be no reason to remove the rear brakes on a street car; it's not a complex system.

The only cars on the planet that have their rear brakes deleted are track-only burnout cars. Every single street car on a public roadway NEEDS THE REAR BRAKES. First time you hit the brakes on a wet or icy road you're going to immediately do a 180 degree turn if you only have front brakes.

Moderator locking this thread and editing the original post so no one else on the planet ever gets the idea of "deleting the rear brakes because they're tired of having to deal with them".

This is on the same level as "can I delete my steering wheel so I don't have to deal with it".
