New to the boards! - (Pic warning 56k carful!)

Hey everyone! I'm a new member on here and my name is Mike. I've been on My350z.com for a little while but never really posted much. I'm primarily from GrandAmGT.com because I do own a 2003 Grand Am SC/T.

I took a 2004 G35 Coupe for a test drive last Spring and absolutely fell in love. I liked the idea of the 350z being cheaper but both me and my girlfriend cannot deny that the car was absolutely amazing and I to this day cannot stop thinking about it. I soon may be starting a new job position with my company and this may open up the window of opportunity to purchase a G35 Coupe ( a sedan may be more practical, i'm still debating my final choice, the job will require year round driving ). I've been drooling at some of the cars on this site and I must say, I have a folder of new wallpapers, these cars are just absolutely amazing and I have to give HUGE props to the owners. I hope if I get my G, i'll be able to represent as well by keeping it in immaculate condition like it seems some of these G's are on here!

Just some 411 on my current ride now, I own a 2003 Grand Am SC/T, its got about 45,000 miles on it right now. Dynoed at the wheels bone stock, it was 139 whp; with the addition of a Borla cat-back exhaust and Cold Air Intake I was able to get a nice 163.4 whp out of just the two mods!. Since I took the pictures, the springs have settled alot and i've changed the tires to the correct side wall size of 45 series, before they were 40 series drags and they looked tiny in the wheel wells. The rest of the mods really have been all show. Unfortunately GM didn't make the grand am V6 very "mod-able". Here's a few pictures and thanks for having me on here guys! -- and girls!

And, in a nasty mess, here she is in her winter outfit, wheels switched for 15" Blizzak WS-50's (215/60/15) and the front chin spoiler removed

Thanks G! Yeah, I have alot of fun with the car but ultimately i'm looking for something RWD and something faster. It hurts to not love my car the way I used to but after it got broken into last May, it was my last straw, I had to break away from it cause its a constant reminder I put so much money in for hardly anything but a headache. So I want something I can enjoy and leave it alone for a little while. Rims and exhaust would probably have to be done regardless to the G. We'll see, i'll definately keep everyone posted! Its a hefty purchase for a soon to be 21 year old, but if I get the job, i'll have a car allowance given so that'll soften the monthly payment blow.

welcom. Nice Coupe. I never realized how good we have it here on the West Coast. After seeing your pictures of the snow, and having to change to a "Winter Outfit" Nice car. What size V6 is in the Pontiac?

Good luck with your search.....and don't worry, my girlfriend didn't like the 350z either...
maybe it was because there was no back seat, and she couldn't come on the test drive? lol

Welcome to the boards! I'm from Lansing, michigan and upgraded from a grand am as well. I too had to decide what would be more practical the sedan or the coupe. I decided to keep the grand am for winter, and bought the coupe. Good luck with your decision and the job.

Nice G AM, but yea the g35 will be leaps and bounds above it. I'm in a similar situation to you. I drive the g35, b/c my boys have them, but at this time i won't be buying one. I just started an internship that pays me enough to get the car, but its for 6 months. After the 6 months if they offer me another stay here then i'll have the car end of summer and be a happy lil boy! Anyhow i'll either be getting a blk 04.5 b/c my friend will give it to me, or a 03 C. Blue b/c thats the best color and they discontinued it.

Oh Welcome to the board

What a jump from a Grand Am to a G! You'll lose 200 pounds worth of body cladding! LOL J/K

Best of luck with the G when you get one!
