Black G35 Sport Coupe
Aftermarket LED Headlamp advice

Seek input on LED headlamps

Have a black 2006 35 Sport Coupe MT, currently completely stock. I also had a 03 350Z which I sold so am going to do some simple mods, change out all exterior lights, paint the grille black and do a Cat back exhaust.

As to headlights , I want to try other than Spec Ds. I also don't care about sequential

Two questions:
1- Any experience, good or bad, on Autozensation and Amerilite? Spyder seems pricey compared to the rest but if there is something I am missing on Spyder that makes them special would like to know

2- Does the Fogged lens feature reduce visibility, I am working with one eye

THX

The stock projector HID has by far the best performance, why don't you want to just keep the stock assembly?

LED is a big downgrade compared to HID projectors, but they're a lot cheaper and "more popular" and thus why the industry went away from HID projectors except for high end luxury vehicles which still use HID projectors.

I don't have any experience with LED retrofits on this platform but they're widely known to be suboptimal unless you do pretty significant work to "fix" them. Even then total lumen output is inferior to the stock 2006 coupe setup.

EDIT: The only benefit to LED is a potentially longer lifespan, but only with QUALITY hardware. Cheap LED will not last as long as a quality ballast and HID lamp.

The verdict is still out on my swap; purchased a 2005 Black G35 coupe, it had one clear and one cloudy OEM headlight, I purchased projector black LED halos which came with H1 bulbs. I resealed the lights to make sure they were watertight and my local shop installed them and moved my factory HID projectors into the housing and removed the H1 bulbs... the finished product looks great and the light output is fantastic,
