I did a quick search... passenger seat leather coming undone
Hi all- I did a quick search but didn't quite find exactly what I needed. I walk out to the car yesterday and the right half of my 2005 coupe passenger seat has pulled out from the seat frame by about a half inch or so. It;s just not holding in place. The leather and bolster are not in place, not an issue I suppose, but it's a little ugly..
I haven't done a deep dive on this, but if anyone has some suggestions please pass them on. This is getting like my old 330Ci, something fails every week :-)
Thanks

All that plastic trim around the base of the seat can be removed, then you can re-anchor the leather. Probably just stitch in a few loops of heavy thread (for stitching leather), then tie it but keep them all fairly loose. Then you can just use a cable tie to go through the thread and down to anchor onto the seat base suspension.
It will all be hidden under the plastic trim so it doesn't need to be very pretty.
The seat trim comes apart starting with the two big screws in the front of the plastic trim, from there it all snaps together and it's pretty obvious how it comes apart.
