Hey folks. I have a 2005 G35 coupe. I am hoping someone could help me out. I want to upgrade the lighting to LEDs. I want to get Spec-D headlights and put LEDs in them. Is this possible? I know my bulbs are halogen now so in order to do this, what would I need? I wouldn't need the ballasts from 2006+ OEM headlights, correct? If anyone can explain it to me like i'm 7, that would be great. Thank you.

 

Honestly, u will get better light output from HIDs compared to LED. And its probably a lot cheaper too.

 

so all i would do is get the Spec-Ds and order two ballasts?

 

If you are ordering. Spec D’s headlights, you can use any ballast and bulb combo you want, with custom modification of course.

 

An HID system consists of the ballast and the bulb. So you will need whatever you will be missing. Im not sure what you already have or what will be included with your Spec-D purchase.

I usually go with a HID kit from DDM Tuning but recently decided to try this Innovited kit for my motorcycle, and it seems to be pretty good:
