Clicking while turning? (Fixed: it's the lugs)

Any of you guys recognize this sound? It mostly only happens while turning. I don't feel anything in the steering wheel, handles fine, there is zero play in the bearings and it only happens while under load, I can't replicate it on stands. I have no idea what it is. I feel like it's kind of always been there but real quiet and inconsistent, now its gotten a lot worse since i've been throwing drift mods on it. Was curious if anyone else has dealt with this.

You can't see much in the video, its more for the sound.

Did you know that solid heim joints are very noisy?

Are they? I've never heard of that. How would they cause clicking?

Solid joints are usually VERY obnoxious depending on manufacturing tolerances, I don't necessarily think that's your issue though. Jack up that corner and pull/push the tire at both the top and the side, do this with the tires straight and full lock turned both ways. I suspect you'll be able to reproduce the sound.

It sounds to me like it might be related to your brake pads maybe? It was only making the sound in that short video when the wheel was turned. Remove the wheel and make sure everything is tight and in place, you might have a bolt loosening up.

I doubt it's a lugnut because you almost always feel that in the steering wheel.

See if you can reproduce the sound by rocking the chassis side-to-side, push up on the door sash to rock the car.

Yeah it was the lugs. Found this thread over at my 350z, described exactly my situation.
https://my350z.com/forum/autocross-r...heel-hubs.html

Been running aluminum sport lugs for years, and like I said, the sound has always been there, just very quiet. After I read the thread I checked my lugs. Found a couple of them, not loose, but well under the 80ft-lb I always torque to. Tightened them up, that made it a lot better. Picked up some steel lugs, and noise is gone.
