Alternative attachment point to missing tow hook
Alternative attachment point to missing tow hook
I am planning to tow a 2004 G35 coupe automatic on a flatbed, but I don’t have the tow hook. Where should I attach onto instead? A photo with the area circled would be great!
It’s my first time getting towed. What should I be aware of (like having a harness on the driver’s side, etc)?
Thanks!

Remove the front bumper, it's easy, then just sling around the bash bar. That's what the tow hook screws into. There is no other place to pull the car from.
Why not just pick up a tow hook though? Your local Nissan will have them in stock.
Normally you pull the front bumper regardless just because it will drag pretty bad due to the angle of a flatbed and usually gets ripped off when offloading the vehicle anyways.

Nope, the G is a front tow only.
You could probably get creative with a sling around the rear subframe though. Then use some wood dunnage to space it down far enough to not damage the rear bumper.
I keep my own nylon 20' tow strap in the car just for stuff like this, I don't want a tow truck driver doing some janky **** that would ruin my car.
