Removing OEM front lip?

I'm considering removing my front lip for a cleaner look . . . has anyone done this? Can I do it without leaving exposed holes or messed up paint? I'm guessing the bodies are painted and the lips are put on near the end of the assembly line, so the body under the lip should have the same finish as the lip, right?

the installation of the front lip required drilling 14 holes into the front bumper. you may have to replace the whole bumper or have the holes filled up and the whole bumper being repainted.

Hmm. I think it makes it look better with the OEM lip on?
And I'd have to agree, you'd probably need a whole new bumper.

If you remove the lip, you'll end up with 4 huge holes on the front of the bumper and 8 less visible holes on the bottom of the bumper. You will need to get a hole new bumper.

try posting a trade with someone who doesn't have the front lip and same body color. ppl have done this type of trade for oem rear trunk spoilers....just switch out the whole trunk. in your case, switch out the whole bumper.

Is there a VIN # anywhere on the trunk?

I think the car looks nice with the lip, rather you have a spoiler or not. Don't take it off man. Unless you want a cooler bumper.

Nevermind then . . . I don't want to undo the factory assembly of the bumper, it may not ever be as straight and tight as it is now. Thanks for the info.

is it possible to take off the oem lip and replace it with an aftermarket lip without any additional drilling?

Gonna be hard to find another Athens blue '05, and one that wants it, and its in the area.

But I agree, it's the best option.
