Ball joint replacement

So I was replacing my ball joints and I was trying to get the old one out and was beating the bottom with a hammer but it wasn't working and I realized my snap ring was still on the bottom, looking for any ideas or tips to get it off because it's now stuck on there from being smashed together with the ball joint. I can upload a picture if that helps, just not sure how to go about getting it off.

Hit the ball joint on the side of the snap ring trying to get it away from the snap ring groove. That should free the snap ring so you can remove it, You shouldn't be beating on parts you plan to reuse(control arm) with a hammer. Use a hydraulic press, vice or heavy duty "C" clamps.

Since you're replacing the ball joint anyways just hammer it back the other way to get that circlip free.
