2003 G35 - Steering Wheel Locked and Brakes + No Crank

I have a 2003 Infiniti G35 Coupe. It sat for a while, until recently when I jump started the car with a friend. Upon starting, the steering felt a bit heavier than usual. We changed the oil. I took it home, all temps normal, RPMs normal, no smoke or noises.
[Next Day]
I buy a new battery, put her in, start, perfection, no issues.
[Next Day]
I start the car, no issues, reverse about 5ft, let her sit running until operating temperature, then turned it off. No issues. I cleaned the rear wheels, then got back into the car to roll her into the garage. No crank. Full electricity flowing, power to headlights, accessories, all the stuff. But the steering wheel will barely budge left or right, and the wheels will not turn. The brake pedal also feels like it has little to no “PRESS” when you push on it. I’ve tried doing the “wheel-wiggle” trick, no luck. Called mechanic, he doesn’t know.

Now I turn to you all, the G35 community to hopefully save the day.

p.s. I just bought an Invidia Gemini Catback and it currently sits in my house not sounding amazing because of this stupid motherf***ing issue GAHH help I’m going crazy. I appreciate any comments or help at all. Desperate is an understatement.

You didn't mention if it's automatic or manual transmission. The brakes being hard is because there is no vacuum drawn in the brake booster. The engine has to be running to do that. Make sure the ignition key is turned to the run position to unlock the steering wheel. It will be hard to turn as the engine is not running and neither is the power steering pump. If it's a manual transmission car and you are depressing the clutch all the way dawn while trying to start but nothing happens, replace the clutch switch. If it's automatic, make sure it is fully in the Park on Neutral position. If that doesn't work, you have to check the neutral switch. Before you go through all this, check ALL your battery cable connections on both the battery end and the other end. Make sure battery cable connectors are not corroded or loose. Check the obvious first.

Automatic

The car is an automatic, from what I can tell, all my terminal connections look good. Just went back over them, same result. Car will shift through all gears but will not start in Neutral or Park. Only a single click just to taunt me. I read that if it’s the neutral switch it will start in certain gears, which will not happen in my case. Also says the reverse lights may not work, which they do as well. Not trying to say I’m an expert because I have access to the internet, definitely far from it as anyone can tell.

If you hear a click, it means that the starter solenoid is engaging, but the starter will not rotate. Check the heavy wire connection to the starter. Clean it if you have to. If it still will not start, lightly tap on the starter itself with a hammer while someone is turning the key inside to the "start" position. The starter may just be stuck or is bad

Mr. Gee is a G!

It was a faulty starter! The solenoid was engaging however, the starter wasn’t working. As soon as a friend and I replaced it and brushed up the terminals and connections, she fired right up and stayed on. No issues. I appreciate your reply and I wanted to follow up to let you know that you saved the day! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!
