Somebody's lying!
Somebody's lying!
Or somebodies a miss informed jerk. A couple of weeks ago I went to Discover Infiniti in Escondido and talked to a salesman about ordering a 6mt fully loaded with CB, he told me I could order at the begining of December and have it by March. Then yesterday I went to Discover Infiniti in Kearny Mesa to look at their inventory. As I was loooking at a Laser red leather coupe a salesman walked up without saying anything. As I was talking to my wife about ordering he jumps in and says that I can't order one until the begining of the year, then when I say that I'm planning on ordering a 6mt he said that I couldn't order that until the middle of next year then just stops talking to me and starts talking to an older couple that walked over. This guy acted like I couldn't afford one of their used cars much less a new G. I was felling pretty pissed and thought to my self "I make more money than this guy in my sleep!", now I know that I was stupid and mean, but these sales men **** me off sometimes. When I went to Escondido they treated fine, and I had pulled in driving my old 4x4 Suburban because of the rain. Well now that I'm done ranting, I guess I need to find out who is right about ordering the car I want. Maybe I'll check over a Mission Viejo or some place else. Sorry if this is so long.

Re: Somebodies lying!
THEY PUT THEIR ORDERS IN AT THE BEGINNING TO THE MONTH, THE ONLY PROBLEM WOULD BE IF THEY ALREADY HAVE TOO MANY ORDERS FOR THAT MONTH. EACH DEALER IS GIVEN SO MANY COUPES. IF THEY SELL MORE THAN THAT YOU WOULD HAVE TO WAIT TILL THE NEXT MONTH
Re: Somebodies lying!
hmmm.... at my area, there are actually coupes that are up for sell, even fully loaded ones.... and if you wanna make an order, you can do it right now.... at least that's what I was told....
Re: Somebodies lying!
Yeah, See. This guy must not have been paying attention when they were making the anouncements. They had a Laser red coupe fully loaded but 5AT, man it was beautifull (too bad I don't want red). Any way the dealer in Escondido said that I would be able to order the first week of December, and I'll get the car by the first of March. And that works out for me, I'll need a few months to save up the downpayment since we just bought my wifes new SUV in Oct. Thanks guys, by March I'll be driving my new C Blue 6MT fully loaded coupe with my wife and about 1 month old new baby. Yeah! that's the life.

Hah. I know how you feel. A few weeks ago I went to a Honda dealer to check out the new accord coupes. While with my obnoxious salesman one of his buddies walks up and gestures "Civic?" like if I couldn't afford an Accord. What the heck is that about?

Re: Stay on course man!
RazorX35, Always remember there are good salemen and lousy salesmen. I went thru some drama prior to buying my G (I have a sedan.) Just a little friendly advice, don't let anyone deter you from your prime objective. Two salesmen tried to influence me to buy what they had in stock. I stayed focused and got what i wanted! Ignore that salesman who displayed arrogance. Next time go to the salesmgr and ask him if he is not helpful go another dealership, I did. I wish you success because the G35 is great car, I love my mine and it was worth the wait!!!

Thanks DKnibb. Yeah, my father-in-law used to sell cars for a living, he sold cars from Farrarri's(I don't think I spelled that right) to BMW's and even FORD once. The last dealer he worked for was a Infiniti dealer, and he was fairly impressed by the cars when he actually started selling them (he used to look down on them as lesser cars). Any way he would tell me that alot of the time it was the person that came in dresses more cassually with slightly worn clothes (that the other salesmen would ignore) that he would end up selling the best car on the lot to. And when my father-in-law bought his last car, he bought a wonderfull black G35 sedan. This was my first experience with the car and it felt great. If they want to try to talk me into something on the lot that IU don't want, I'll just tell them to kiss my @$$. lol
Re: Somebodies lying!
RazorX35, I went through the same exact thing as you did. I went to the same dealerships and I got the same answers. The guy at the Kearny Mesa location wouldn't even let me test drive the car. The first time I went there they had a BS in the showroom with a few miles on it. The car had different wheels on it. I asked if I could test drive it and his answer was no. The next time I went down there I noticed the engine was still warm. So, I asked again for a test drive and I got the same answer. "we don't allow test drives until you actually sit and make the deal". So, I asked him how come I can feel the heat from the engine. He said the detailing guy must have been driving it back to the showroom. I went back to the showroom and the car was gone once again. I don't know who is telling the truth about ordering but I seem to be treated much nicer at the Escondido location. I ended up putting down a deposit at the Escondido dealership. My car should be here in February (so I was told). Good luck with your order.
Re: Somebodies lying!
only 18% of all 2003 g35 coupe's made will be the 6MT model, which is why they are extremely limited. But hey that is a good thing, it is well worth the wait, and it will be a collectors item, keep the miles low and car clean and you will have great resale value!
Just wanted to remind all of the people who have had there coupe for a while how hard it was to get one back in the day. I tried to buy one in jan 03 and didn't pick up a 6speed till sep.. I keep her for two fun filled years before moving up. It was a blast back then when you would go weeks without seeing one and NO body knew what they were. It was a ground breaking car that saved inifinity, hell it was hard to find a dealership back then because most had gone under during the 90's early 00's.
