squeak sound during cold start.. HELP..

Why is that my g35 coupe always has this squeaking sound whenever I start the engine in the morning. I seems like the belt is squeaking.. but i'm not sure. Once the car warmed up, the squeaking sound disappears..
It's still very cold here in michigan. During summer, fall and spring, I never heard this annoying sound.
A friend of mine owns a toyota celica, and his car squeaks too during cold start in the morning. He checked his car at toyota dealer and they said that it is normal to have the squeaking sound. It's because the belt is hardened because of cold weather. I'm not sure if this also applies to infiniti though.

Has anyone ever experienced this? do you have any ideas of what causing the sound and how to make it gone?

Thank alot guys.. please help me here..

are you sure its the power steering? the sound is coming from the engine bay. it's more like low pitch screech or squeak sound. I bought this car last april and during summer and fall, I never heard this sound at all. I only experience hearing this sound during winter.

The sound is coming from your Tensioner. This is the part that adjust the tension of your belts. It' happened to me a coupe of times with diffrent cars. Just take it in and Infiniti will fix it up, assuming your still under warranty. Just my two cents....

Have the belt tension checked/tightened by Infiniti. It squeals because it's cold, and once the rubber warms up and expands, it is more pliable, and thus doesn't squeal. Should be able to fix that pretty easily.

same here, not the belt, already had mine replaced... squeak stayed. Grubbs said they didnt think it was the idler pulley either. I've isolated mine to the AC compressor. Oddly, my car was built after those cars to which the TSB applied on the AC clutch. Perhaps the redesigned AC clutch didnt completely address the issues. Havent had time to get it back there, but hope too soon. My car sounds like a hoopty pulling out in the morning.

You can try spraying a spray bottle of water on the various accesory belts (each one separately and one at a time) to see which one is the culprit. When things get really quiet all of a sudden, you'll know which belt is the squealer. If that doesn't reduce the noise then you can tell the dealer to look elsewhere (like the idler pulley, tensioner, bearings in the water pump, alternator, power steering, A/C, etc.)

just want to give you an update.. I just got my coupe back from the dealer. they have replaced the pulley and the belt. now i dont have that annoying squeaking sound anymore in the moring. BTW, I feel the car pulled harder when I floored it. or maybe it's just a placebo effect.
