TSB on Gas tank issue?
You guys are missing the point. The freakin' gas tank won't fill up past 2/3 to 3/4. I don't have enough time to sit there and dribble gas into the tank. It's an issue and you obviously don't have it.
Not every problem you have with your car will be experienced by everyone else - maybe you just have a defective tank/fill tube .. You seem pissed that everyone isn't having the same problems as you are.
I may be asking another obvious question but have you brought the car to the dealer for service on this yet already? What have they told you?
For someone who seems so intent on getting an answer you sure aren't volunteering much information. (has it been this way since youve owned the car? you mentioned temperature - what outside temp does it need to be for the problem to go away? have they looked at the problem under warranty? do different nozzle positions make any difference? different types of nozzles - with our without airlock collars ..)
The more you give the more you get.

I checked, nothing:

I have had this same problem on my sedan a few times, but it's pretty rare.

Yup. I have it sometimes. It's happened at the two stations I always go to. One is Citgo one is Texico. Usually I fix the problem by pulling the nozzle all the way out, putting it back in - but not as far, and then GENTLY applying pressure to the handle until its back to full speed - just do it very slowly, that should help.
I was with a buddy the 1st night his did it to him. I have an 04.5, he has an 03 with I think 16K on it and it happened the 1st time when I was with him, he was stumped! Never visits any forums, and had never heard of this problem...[he also has 420rwhp, lol].

Yes it is an issue for me.....I'm not pissed but I have searched and found a lot of threads about this "issue". If I come off as pissed, I apologize. I am taking it back to the dealer next Thursday and I want to be armed. I have evidence of maybe 30 cars with it. Out of thousands sold, that is not really bad but it seems to be a more common thing than I thought. It has been going on since the weather has been cold. It did the same thing last year but when the weather warmed up, it stopped. I have no idea what the temp has to do with it. I have not driven the car much this year because of all the snow NJ has had and I don't have snow tires so it sat in a garage.
It would be interesting to find out if there is an acutal problem. I encountered this same thing, occassionaly as others have indicated, in my around-town POS '03 Chevy Cavalier. I've also had the same, ocassional problem with a'97 Mistubishi Eclipse GSX, a '99 Mistu. Galant GTZ, a '97 Chrysler Cirrus LXi and a '91 Ford Mustang GT. I always assumed the problem was with the pump or with how far I was putting the nozzle in. Never occurred to me that the problem may have been with each and every one of these vehicles.
Any chance that the cold-weather correlation might have something to do with being in a rush to fill it up so you can get out of the cold? I have had cars that needed more time to allow the fuel to travel through the filler neck, which meant that you could seldomly fill it up a the max flow rate of the pump.

I wish that were the case....I live in NJ, we have Indian and Russian "gas-pumpers". I have tried it myself. I found that if you turn the handle toward the front of the car it will take some but will still not fill up.
