Re: Turbo Anyone?
There exist many difficulties in turboing the V35. previous gen skylines had the advantage of the Inline 6 which boasted a single exhaust bank, easy for adding a turbo. Our V6 design merits dual turbos due to the two exhaust manifolds. this adds cost. I would guestimate a turbo kit for our cars would hover around 6K. Single turbos may be a possibility, but alot of engineering would have to go into it. Another hurdle we have to overcome is the stock compression ratio, which i believe is close to 10:1, not turbo suitable. Again, adding to the cost for big hp, we;d have to lower it, perhaps the an enlarged head gasket. Another hurdle would be fitting the intercooler piping in our car. One doesnt want to risk overheating the engine by covering the radiator with a large front mount, so, i foresee a water/air IC, which, again, is more expensive. Now, i may be conservative in these assumptions, but I think our car isnt as turbo friendly stock as one may think. Bummer huh??

Well put Scorch!
If I was looking for a luxury car to turbo, it would be the IS300 and not theG35. Those motors can handle alot of horsepower without changing internals. The G however is a different story.

Re: Turbo Anyone?
I'd probably go with a supercharger before a turbocharger - instant boost, higher reliability, easier installation, etc.
I don't really want TONS of more HP - I'd be happy with around 300 at the wheels.

Re: Turbo Anyone?
Scorch I think it's already been done. There are a few pix circulating among the Nissan and Infiniti sites of a Skyline that's been TT'ed in japan. I believe the setup would have to bee a Bi- Turbo right since it's a V6 similair to the Audi S4. One turbo per bank of cyclindar's? I am researching right now about ECU mod's needed for it and will post updates rest assured. I do know that Stillen is testing the Supercharger for the 350z so I'm sure they will begin testing on the G35c soon. But you would need to change hoods, I have already seen the setup for the z and it's "tall". I'll post some more info when I find out. Peace.
