getting tinted have question

my tint guy just called me said the caris ready to pick up....got 20% all around on a BS coupe. Question is this: he said I should try to avoid driving the car for a little while because of how the windows roll up and down when you get in and out. Did anyone else take this precaution? Did anyone just drive as normal the first day? Is there any peeling? lemme know, id like to drive it not stare at it.

I don't think you would have problems since the adhesive on tint is pretty sticky, but
you should avoid using the car for at least 24hours if you can. tint shops usually
tell you not to open the windows for at least a couple of days to make sure the
edges adhere completely.

If you must use the car, I would get a heat lamp and toast the tint from
the inside at the top a good hour or two at temps warm to the touch,
but not hot.

When I got my car tinted they heated up around the top of my windows because of that reason.

when I just tinted mine, the owner said don't worry about the window movement when you open the door (it was a very rainy and humid day). Did say not to roll completely down for 24hr of course. Besides, the only Infiniti dealer in Hawaii only recommends this guy so he must know what he's talking about. Wouldn't worry about it, besides, it's probably past 24 hours anyhow right? Later.

nope....he tinted it and gave it to me. the whole process took 3 hours. so its really fresh....guess ill just avoid opening the doors as much as possible. he did tell me to leave it running with the heat on 90 for like 20 mins though so im doing that now to cook it up and get rid of some marks

Oh, I guess it would also depend on where you live, if it's sunny just park it out in the open with the doors open, that'll get out the water, plus it will air out the car. Mine started to smell during the later part of the day. Make sure to clean the leather if you have it as the overspray of the soap water probably got on the seats and they just wiped it probably. I got some spray marks on my seats that I needed to condition out.

I'm assuming your car is brand new, so I wouldn't do that if it's not broken in yet. Letting it idle for a long time isn't a good idea.

I certainly wouldn't worry about driving the car just after getting the windows tinted. The only issue is not putting down the windows. If you have a good tint shop they should have stickers to put on top of your window buttons reminding you. Also you probably should have gone with 15% all around I just had mine put on and on a sunny day sometimes wish I had gotten the limo tint instead.

ya let us know where you're at. i live in Houston when it was about 60 degress (if i cand recall right) and i picked up my car a few weeks ago. my dealer did the tint for me about 2 days before i picked it up. they did the tint Thursday evening and i picked up the car on Saturday evening. they said don't roll down your windows down till Tuesday. i read the forums about the roll up thing regarding the tint when you close the doors and i told the dealer when i picked it up. they said not to worry about it and that it won't affect the tint at all (plus a lifetime warranty was included for my tint).

i was in and out of my car a lot before Tuesday came. by Tuesday i started rolling down my windows everytime i drove and everything looked fine too me. i guess the dealer was right. i wouldn't worry about unless there is some issue about cold climates and tinting that i don't know about.

BTW- if you have bubbles, that's perfectly normal. leave it out in the sun for a few days to week and they will go away.

limo all around is great during the day, but at night it sucks, so many times ive almost hit curbs turning, people crossing, ect. its downright dangerous. Plus i go f*cked by the chp already, he followed me in traffic for 8 miles on my way to school, turning in at every bus stop so he could keep getting closer to me, and they were rolled down the whole way. But the auto window down function will have no affect on it at all, i even rolled down my windows that same day do to a cop next to me, no problem peeling. a buddy of mine has 20% all around, im recommend getting 20 on the fronts.
