Dealer let me test drive and take home 03 6spd for the weekend....

Hey everyone,

what do you guys think about this...right now i have a 03 Blk/Blk 6spd with 23k sitting in my garage. it has the Premium Package with the rear spoiler. The dealer let me bring it home for the weekend to drive it more and to see if my credit union will finance the car. The total price out the door is 33,200. That just seems a lil too high for a car that is 2 years old.... granted the body and inside are in perfect condition... what to do??? should i just wait and find something a little bit cheaper??? Help me out!!! Thanks???

Dealers go by KBB value and since the coupes are still in high demand, they will get top dollar for them! That car without Nav looks to be at $33,560 on KBB.

Yeah put miles on the car before you buy. What you should do is ask for another!

Sounds high priced to me, my 05 without premium package was 32500.

It's crazy whay used coupes are selling for. I originally was looking at buying an '03 or '04 coupe with less than 25,000 miles on it, but the prices were in the low $30,000's. Instead I ordered my new coupe with every option (premium package, sports suspension, aero package, navigation, sat radio) for $37,600 ($1000 over dealer invoice). So for a few thousand dollars more I got to choose the exterior and interior colors I wanted, all the options I wanted, got the full mfg warranty, and I will not have to wonder how well the previous owner took care of the car. I would say look into getting a new one before you pull the trigger. And if you can wait a couple of months, you might be able to get a better deal by ordering it.

On a positive note, people who bought coupes new are in a good position when it comes time to sell it and buy a new one

as much as id hate to say it... at that price its a no go (for me at least)

the car sounds sweet, for an 03 they'd need to sell it for 28k for me to bite.

at 33k just order a new 2005 6sp black/black (wont be that hard to locate) and it will have much better resale value among the redesigned interior, etc.

Used coupes are sky high when it comes to resale but for an 03, thats a horrible price
I managed to get my 04 for a steal at 27,700. Managed to find the exact colors and options I wanted in a coupe AND it just so happened the guy was desperate to sell because he was moving away to Brazil

Unless you can find something under 28, Id just go new. Its a tough decision

Also, for comparison purposes, go on eBay and look at what '03 G35's are going for with that mileage and options. I think you'll find that private parties will part with their used cars for considerably less than what the stealer..uh, I mean dealer, will sell the car for. It's a known fact that car dealers make more money on used cars than they'd ever make on a new one.

Shoot.. I'd be driving that beast, not at home on the internet! Really though, thats too much money. You should only pay 27-30k. In the end, whatever makes you happy is really all that matters though.
