G35 and BMW handling question

OK I had my g35 6mt for about a year now, and I really like this car alot but, anybody feel that the handling is not up to par. At high speeds I feel very unsafe as far as handling. It feel very lose and sometimes it feels like its all over the road or if ur coming in to a turn if feels like it leans to much. Alot of body roll and sometimes is bouncy . Is anybody in agreement with me.... I used to have a BMW 330ci and it just felt much more tight and balanced than the G...is there any upgrades to put in the G to make it nice and tight and to tighten up some of the body roll. Please no flaming , I just want other peoples opinion on the topic and upgrade opinions. Thanks

Ang

In addition to this, does the '05's suspension correct these issues? Just how big of an improvement is it?

Thanks.

Body roll? Bouncy? Unsafe handling?

Are you sure you are not driving a G20?

What speeds are you talking about? I've not had any problems up to about 65. Other than that I don't push the car.

I assume you don't have a 6MT?

Because I don't experience the things you describe..

Straight and changing lanes at 80 I've had no problems. I wouldn't dare go 120, I value my life too much!

My car is crisp, sorry about yours!

I test drove the 04 G35c 5AT and went around 110... and it did feel pretty bouncy. And just a few days ago, I drove my 05 G35c 5AT around 100 and... it didn't feel as bouncy. I'm pretty sure that 10mph doesn't make a difference... so I guess the sports tuned suspension didn't do much? Or, maybe it's because my 05 gained weight from all the crap in the trunk (around 20lbs) + the navi so it doesn't move much? ... not sure

04 G35c 5AT - Premium
05 G35c 5AT - Premium, navi, sports tuned

The suspension isn't really made to be comfortable at 100+ speeds where as the BMW has its roots in the autobahn. When you have that type of suspension you start to feel a lot more vibration when you drive normally. If you don't have the wire/tire package that could make a difference otherwise you may have to upgrade the suspension. At the end of the day I would say you shouldn't be driving that fast, but to each's own...

I've driven up to 130 and didn't feel bouncy at all. Maybe your highways are less bumpy than mine but the car felt very planted and I had complete confidence in the steering. Check your tires and tire pressure.

check your tire pressure, it might be too high. weather's warming up and the extra air you put in last winter may be over inflating your tires.

or too low.....I have no issues with mine at all. I took it to Skip Barber and while new sways and shocks would be necessary for track work, it handled fine for a front heavy coupe.

Hmmm, most car mags have stats that say the G35C outhandles the 330Ci on the skidpad and slalom. Do you own a G35? To say the G35's suspension is not tuned to go 100 mph is just crazy. The G35C is a true GT in every sense, which means great comfort, luxury, acceleration, braking, and most of all-handling! I think his problem arises from other things and not the G35 being inherently floaty at speed. Trust me, I owned an E46 with sport package and I say they are pretty evenly matched. The FM platform's strong point is the highway or road course, while the 3-series tends to do better at auto-x, which requires tight maneuvers. I won't say when or where, but I've personally had my coupe up to 145, before any mods. It was amazingly stable like my old E46.

To the original poster: Check your tires and even your sways. I personally think my coupe has less body roll than my old 325Ci with sport.
